After last week’s Moon challenges, I thought about doing a tarot spell to move me towards Sun energy: vitality, well-being, joy and dynamism. However, I’ve been reading Tarot Kaizen by Alison Cross. It’s a great little book, which I’ll review more thoroughly on Friday. In the meantime, I decided to use one of the spreads she offers, a variation on something I’ve done before.
Here, you draw a Court card for the energies you need over the next week, a Major for the theme of the next week, and a Minor for how best to combine these energies. Drawing from the Triple Goddess Tarot (Lo Scarabeo, 2017) resulted in this:
Court card – Queen of Swords
I love this version, with the Queen standing on a stage, a dramatic mask at her feet and a sword by her upraised hand. It speaks to the ability to communicate in a way that really reaches people, as well as her ability to understand different emotions and experiences.
Major – XX- Judgement
Well, I wanted sunshine, and here it is, pouring out of the portal that a figure is walking into. However, this is more than just a personal energy. The stairs imply having to make some effort and rising above the day-to-day. You are being drawn to something higher.
Minor – Two of Pentacles
A motley figure juggles two pentacles while standing at the centre point where two paths join. In the foreground is a stone with the rune Raidho engraved on it, a rune of movement. The landscape behind the young woman is green, with rolling hills that the path winds around.
Bringing It Together
This week, then, I need to find ways to communicate clearly and well, getting my point across. What is the theme of this communication? My life’s purpose, my sense of calling. And how can I bring these two together? Well, it’ll be a bit of a balancing act. Talking to various people, and trying to hit the notes that will convince them.
Certainly, I’ve got an interview scheduled on Wednesday morning for a volunteering position, and I want to try to talk to someone else about hiring a room. And maybe to record a video, too. A bunch of different kinds of communication to move forward with the direction I want my life to be headed. And in all of that, I’ll have to balance the requirements of day job and family, too!

P.S. There’s an extra post this evening, for the Beltane Tarot Blog Hop.
